welcome Dorset runners
The Dorset Hollow 10K is a rolling and scenic loop with sweeping mountain views and approximately 550' of climbing and descending. The 5K is the 300' net downhill second half of the 10K -- a beautiful course for fast times!
Chartered in 1761, Dorset is one of Vermont's greatest treasures! Enjoy quintessential Vermont scenery as you run through beautiful Dorset Hollow along the banks of the Mettawee River. Chip timing, free participant photos, tech tees and unique finishers medals for all distances! Mostly packed dirt roads with some pavement.
Walkers are welcome! There will be a 2-hour cutoff for both distances, making the 5k especially walker-friendly!
The Dorset Hollow Road Race is part of the Dorset Running Festival, a three-day running extravaganza with road and trail races from 1 mile to 50K. A portion of the proceeds of the Dorset Running Festival benefit Second Chance Animal Center, Bennington County's humane society that serves animals in Southwestern Vermont and nearby New York and Massachusetts.
10K runners will be treated to a rolling loop course through idyllic Dorset Hollow. Course is not certified, and measures approximately 6.4 miles. You will gain and lose approximately 550' of elevation. Fast downhill/flat finish!

The 5K is a fast point-to-point that follows latter half of the 10K featuring over 300' of net downhill! Course is not certified, and measures approximately 3.25 miles. Don't forget to enjoy the scenery as you fly by!

Parking & shuttle
Shuttle is included in registration. Both 5K and 10K courses feature a remote start. The 10K start is roughly flat and ~0.8 miles from the shuttle pickup, for those who prefer to walk or jog a warm-up rather than take the bus. Parking is at the Long Trail School, in Dorset, Vermont.
You cannot drive or get a ride to the 5K start! You must take the shuttle!! Do not miss the shuttle! It is included in your registration!!
The Dorset Hollow Road Race will be photographed by renowned sports photographer Joe Viger. All participants will take home FREE web-sized downloads of their photos, courtesy of Nor'east Trail Runs! Higher resolution prints and downloads are also available - support your amazing photographers!
The Dorset Hollow Road Race will be chip timed by Mike Melton, a leader in the industry and the timer of record for several world and national championship events. Results will be available live at the finish line and online in real time.
All participants receive a custom tech shirt! Unique woodallions for all finishers.
Beautiful, unique awards for the top three women and men at each distance, plus age group awards for the top male and female finisher in each 10-year age range!
